Capulet

April 16th, 1535
Tonight was the night of my annual masquerade ball and as the good host I am, I welcomed everyone into my home for a good night of eating and dancing. My nephew, Tybalt, came up to me and appeared to be very angry. He told me that there was a Montague at my party, and he was outraged. When he told me it was Romeo I was not concerned at all. He is a very dignified and respected youth in Verona, and I will not have him be disrespected in my home. When they were getting ready to leave I offered them some dessert, and made sure that they had torches to light their way out.

I received a visit very late tonight from County Paris looking to see Juliet. I told him that Juliet was still very upset from Tybalt's death and that she wouldn't be coming down, so I made an offer on my daughter's behalf to marry Paris in 3 days. I did this because I feel that Paris is the right man for Juliet, and I am already beginning to see him as my own son. I know that she will do exactly as I tell her to do, and more. I tell my wife to go check on Juliet and break the good news to her. I hope she is as excited as I am for the wedding!

After informing my lovely daughter Juliet of my decision for her to marry Paris, she acted extremely ungrateful. She was acting like a spoiled brat and was not at all proud to be marrying the County Paris. After threatening to disown her, she finally came to realise that I made the right decision for her to marry Paris, and the wedding is now being planned. I am very excited for my little girl to finally get married, and I am also proud to call Paris my new son.

This morning, after rushing to plan the wedding, I found my daughter laying dead in her bed. Unfortunately I had to tell Paris that death stole his wife from him, and that he was not going to be getting married. I am extremely saddened that that my child is dead and there is nothing that I can do about it. All of the food and decorations that I have gotten for the wedding must now be used for the funeral of my sweet Juliet. I was very grateful to have Friar Lawrence there when Juliet was found because he offered a very comforting feeling to my family and I.

Tonight my wife and I went to our family tomb and saw many people crowded around it. When I looked inside the tomb I saw my daughter with a dagger in her chest, and I immediately exited the tomb. Juliet was my pride and joy and to have that ripped away from me was devastating. When Friar Lawrence confessed to marrying my Juliet to Romeo without my permission I was extremely angry, but I didn't want to show it during this time of mourning. When the Prince announced that we are all punished and have all played a part in the deaths, it made me realise that hating the Montague's was useless. When Montague offered to create a pure gold statue of Juliet, I was so grateful that I offered to make a statue just as good of Romeo to lay next to Juliet's statue. I am very happy that our families are no longer feuding, but I will always miss my dear sweet Juliet.
